It seems like new projects in our ministry never end. A need comes up and we start another project. We realized we had a new need in our girl's ministry, so a new project has begun. Who is the supervisor? Oh, Its me. So, it looks like I am off and running with a new project. In our girls ministry, we are at the stage now where many of our girls in the ministry are graduating from High School. So, What does the future look like for some of these girls who have no family to return to? We have decided to rent a house and set up a place for these girls to live in for about one year, while they are doing skills training, working, or to come back to when they are on break from university. We are calling it the Life Experience Home. The house is set up where the girls will cook their own food, clean the house and go out each day for work or skills training. They will each contribute money, as able, that will be used to buy food and toiletries. It is a training for them, as they prepare to work and start their own home. In June 2019 the move in day had come and the girls were all excited. They unloaded all their belongings and ran to choose their bedroom and spent the afternoon arranging all their clothes and items into their drawers and closet. Now a new phase in life begins for these girls and the ones that will follow behind them. We have one couple who will be the houseparents and will supervise the girls and the running of the house. The girls will be doing skills training in sewing, salon, design and decoration, graphic design and printing and other skills, as they come available. Some of the girls will begin working after their skills training is finished. It is great to see these girls growing up and now being excited about learning a skill or having a job and making some money that they can use to help support themselves and also save towards university in the future. This is a new phase in ministry for me and I hope that I can be a blessing in helping these girls learn the skills needed to manage a home, budget their expenses and interact well in the community, as they work or do their apprenticeships.
